Bowling was so much fun! All the teachers were bowling, I scored a 136. Everyone was drinking, laughing, dancing, eating. I was told to go out after, and I'm so glad I did. Teachers are crazy. We ate the best food, drank some beer, and then went to a bar in the middle of a little road. Had drinks and drinks and told stories until the middle of the night. It was probably my best night in Thailand. Walking home in Bangkok isn't so safe, and I prob won't do it again. Live, ya learn. FIRST WEEK OF BEING A TEACHERMy first week of school is done !! One for the books, and I'm alive. My experience wasn't so bad, but was not what I was expecting. My kids are great, I have 14 little monsters. One who is actually a monster, and jumps on furniture and doesn't listen. I had two kids spill entire bowls of soup down their fronts at lunch. I had another kid fall while running, resulting in my principal yelling at me, because the child had a goose egg, black and blue, the size of her head on her head. Then, I had parents getting mad at me for not BCCing emails. I had to tell a handful of parents after the email incident that I "think it would be best to have your child in ESL". I mean overall, it went okay. Personal life,
Can you guys believe it?
They said, " WE FOCUS ON ONE LETTER EVERY TWO WEEKS, AND ONE NUMBER EVERY TWO WEEKS. YOU HAVE 6 WEEKS TO TALK ABOUT ALL ABOUT YOU/SCHOOL RULES, 6 WEEKS TO TALK ABOUT FEELINGS, 6 WEEKS TO TALK ABOUT COLORS, 6 WEEKS TO TALK ABOUT THE WORLD, AND 6 WEEKS TO TALK ABOUT DINOS" Bitch. I can do that all in one week. My plan was to do the all about me IN ONE OR TWO FIRST DAYS. NOT A WHOLE 6 WEEKS. Like, tell me one thing new about you everyday YES? I'm so in a mind set to go go go, and not be slow slow slow. I want you to write me a paragraph. And, I want you to ask for help in subtraction. NOT TALK ABOUT 0 FOR 1 WEEK. What will I do when I run out of the 0-20? Repeat it? Or A-Z, thats 24. School is longer than 24 weeks. I want to be able to know what I will be teaching, have a guideline, maybe a book to use, a children's phonic book, idk. I DON'T WANT TO GO TO SCHOOL THE DAY OF and sit around, googling and downloading shit like 10 minutes before we do it. I just don't want to do that, that's not what I went to college for. HALP. It almost stresses me out and makes me feel like I'm doing nothing. I told the librarian that I wanted to leave and go home, and that I miss the food. And she said,"TEEEEACHER, YOU NEED CHEESEBURGER TEAAACHER". Yes. Yes I do. Other news; My shoe maker friendOn my walk to work, I have to go down this very small, and dingy alley way. On the right side is this giant big wall, on the left is the back of some shops. Also on that side, is this old man under his umbrella. He is a shoe repairman. His work takes place under the shade of his umbrella, on the side of a little, dirty, alley way. I've seen him repair or look at children's crocs, mens dress shoes, and replace a whole rubber sole on a tennis shoe. One morning walking to work, I was in a great mood, where I don't hate people, and I smiled so bright at him and practically yelled "GOOD MORNING". And he smiled, the biggest, ear to ear, white smile, and said it back in Thai. So now, for the last 4-5 weeks, or so, every morning, we smile and wave, sometimes say morning or good morning, he will point and question my coffee. On the way home, I walk by him, we wave good bye, and he yells "Bye bye!" WELL TODAY I got off the train right when he was pulling up to his umbrella on his motorcycle. He patted the seat, and I hopped on. He took me to school, we didn't say much. I waved and thanked him goodbye. Normally for motor cycle rides, people pay. But thats through a taxi-like service, and the motorcycle people are wearing orange vests, he just gave me a ride. Then of course, on my way home, I went to his umbrella, thanked him again for the ride, and said "see you tomorrow".
Frrrrriday 8-3-18All three campus of my work will be going bowling. Every teacher from nursery to 12th grade. Every subject, from all three campus located roughly 3-4 miles apart. We get a bonding bowling session on Friday. I'll let you know how that goes (;
